Human-curated feeds organized by topic not by algorithm.
Douglas Cheney
I’ve spent decades working in television, which means I’ve been professionally staring at screens since long before social media melted our brains. I got tired of watching legacy media fail to meet the moment while algorithms divide us, so I started MindBrief as an attempt to fight back.
Curation as a creative act is not new to the internet, but in the age of the algorithm, it feels more necessary than ever.
My playlists are designed to consolidate signal around a topic, idea, or strange corner of the internet I think deserves sunlight. Every video was handpicked by me. Never by a machine.
The goal isn’t to tell you what to think, but to track stories from multiple angles without algorithmic intervention.
If I'm lucky, MindBrief bursts a few media bubbles along the way (starting with my own).
"This feed is not neutral. MindBrief is an attempt to put a human back between you and the firehose.” Douglas Cheney, Certified Human
